Fort Saskatchewan Open Studio Tour
June 13 & 14, 2026
There is something special about stepping into an artist’s studio.
It’s more than simply seeing finished artwork hanging on a wall. A studio tells the story behind the work — the tools covered in paint, the sketches pinned to the wall, the experiments, the happy accidents, the unfinished ideas waiting patiently for their next layer.
For one weekend in June, the artists of Fort Saskatchewan are inviting you into those creative spaces.
The Fort Saskatchewan Open Studio Tour is a self-guided weekend experience featuring 12 local artists opening their working studios to the public. Visitors can explore the city, meet artists in person, ask questions about process and inspiration, and discover an incredible range of artwork and techniques.
This year’s tour includes artists working in:
• Watercolour
• Oil painting
• Acrylic painting
• Mixed media
• Collage
• Encaustic wax
• Fibre arts
• Woodworking
• Raku ceramics
Whether you are an art collector, a creative spirit, or simply someone looking for a unique weekend adventure, the Open Studio Tour offers a rare opportunity to experience art where it is actually made.
One of the joys of the tour is how accessible it is. All participating studios are within a 10-minute radius, making it easy to spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the Fort. We are located only 25 minutes from north Edmonton and 20 minutes from Sherwood Park, making it an easy day trip.
While you’re here, take time to enjoy everything Fort Saskatchewan has to offer. Stroll through the historic Fort area, visit the sheep grazing near the old Fort grounds, browse local shops, discover great thrift stores, or stop in at our wonderful local knitting shop. If you enjoy the outdoors, our paved trails along the North Saskatchewan River valley provide beautiful walking opportunities throughout the city.
Every studio has its own atmosphere, personality, and artistic voice. Some spaces are quiet and organized. Others are layered with paint, paper, wax, thread, tools, and works in progress. Each one offers a glimpse into the creative process and the artists who make Fort Saskatchewan such a vibrant artistic community.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring a friend, and spend the weekend discovering the artists of Fort Saskatchewan.
